FastMail is an email service offering paid email accounts. It also allows to manage calendars and contacts and provides CalDAV/CardDAV interfaces.
Login with Fastmail (recommended)
Since DAVx5 4.5.1 we support the OAuth login method for Fastmail. You'll be able to authenticate through the web without entering any credentials directly in DAVx5.
- Open DAVx5, choose "Create new account" (floating + button).
- Choose "Fastmail" in the login dialog.
- Enter your Fastmail account (in most cases, a Fastmail email address).
- Click on "Sign in with Fastmail" and follow the instructions.
- Allow DAVx⁵ to access your Fastmail account.
- After authentication is complete you may need to close the browser window.
- DAVx5 should now offer you the last step of the account creation.
You should now be able to synchronize your contacts and calendars.
Contact group method: Groups are separate vCards
App password
As an alternative to the above mentioned login using OAuth you need to generate an app password which is required in order to use 3rd-party applications like DAVx⁵ or Thunderbird with FastMail. Choose "Mail, calendars and contacts" access.
Choose "Login with email address" and enter your FastMail email address and the generated app password (see above).
When using fastmail with your own domain without SRV records you can try to use the Login with Base URL
Base URL: https://fastmail.com
ID: Your Email-Address (if you have an email-address ending with @fastmail.com or fastmail.fm please try this as well)
PW: Your app specific password (can be generated on fastmail.com)
Contact group method: groups are separate VCards
WebDAV setup
You can mount your fastmail files using the DAVx⁵ WebDAV mounts feature.
WebDAV URL: https://webdav.fastmail.com
User name: your fastmail email address or username
Password: your password
